I think I've tried just about every combination of additive, flush, and oil to help silence my lifter tick that only occurs on the first couple of minutes of a cold start up only. I haven't tried the BG products yet. I've had varying degrees of success, but this is the first time the lifter tick is GONE. Here's what I did: Poured in a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil. Yes, this overfilled the crankcase but I then drove it very gingerly over to the Jiffy Lube about seven miles or fifteen minutes away keeping the RPM's under 3000. There was a waiting line so after I got there I continued to let the car idle for about another ten minutes. I changed the oil using Mobil One Synthetic and I added a Slick 50 oil treatment. Last two mornings during cold start up, NO lifter tick. First time that has happened since the ticking started. We'll see how long it lasts.
